That's why it's dissapointing

Well I woke up on my last day in Washington and decided to go for a little walk. Took the fly off my tent to let things air and walked over to the beach. The beach turned into a trail, the trail into a hill, the hill to more WWII bunkers and then a lighthouse. Of course by the time I got the top, a few miles from my campsite, it started to rain. I ran back to find all my gear soaking wet in my tent. Stupid stupid me. Lesson learned.

Screw bikes, this guy knew how to do it.
So once I mopped up my mess and pack all my wet shit into wet bags I set out to the famed Astoria Bridge across the Columbia River and my entry to Oregon.
In all the guide books and everything I've read online people warn of the Astoria Bridge like it's worst thing ever. I had a young guy stop me last night and warn me not to ride over it, that I should take the shuttle bus.
baaaaaaa
Turns out, like everything so far, not that big of deal at all.

The big climb at the end of it is steep and the shoulder isn't huge but nothing to take a bus for. That dude was a pussy.
Took a short day to get some some stuff done in Astoria and dry all my crap out. Not before I did my best Truffle shuffle

Yes Astoria is home of the Goonies. Tried to do my first internet post here but after I sat down, ordered my food and got all set up, I asked the server why the internet wasn't working. "Oh it's not on from 10-2, it gets too busy here." Ahhhh, this sets the tone for my interneting for the trip.
Ended up camping at a place called Fort Stevens tonight. It's just across the river from Cape Disappointment and has a cool ship wreck on the beach.
Drying shit out

Sleeping bag was a bit damp, but it worked.
